Lionel apprend un jour qu'il va être sacré roi pour succéder à la tête du royaume à son arrière-arrière-arrière-arrière-arrière grand-père qui vient de mourir. Arrivé au Palais Royal, Lionel, est émerveillé par la quantité de livres qu'il découvre dans la grande bibliothèque. Mais le Premier Ministre et le Ministre des Finances lui interdisent de les toucher. Bien évidemment, cela ne fait que raviver le désir du petit garçon de les ouvrir... Celui qui attire son regard en premier est un grand livre brun, enrichi de fermoirs de cuivre ornés de turquoises et de rubis. Lionel avait à peine ouvert le livre à la première page qu'un magnifique papillon s'en échappa. Mais lorsqu'il l'ouvre de nouveau, c'est un immense dragon rouge qui s'évade du livre magique et part terroriser toute la population. Lionel décide alors d'aller combattre le dragon à l'aide de Pégase, un cheval aux ailes de cygne qu'il a fait sortir du livre magique. Et c'est à force d'adresse et de ruse que Lionel parvient à renfermer le dragon dans le livre et à sauver les habitants de son royaume.
ENGLISH
Lionel learns one day that he is going to be crowned king to succeed his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather who has just died as head of the kingdom. Arriving at the Royal Palace, Lionel is amazed by the quantity of books he discovers in the large library. But the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance forbid him from touching them. Obviously, this only rekindles the little boy's desire to open them... The one that catches his eye first is a large brown book, enriched with copper clasps decorated with turquoise and rubies. Lionel had barely opened the book to the first page when a magnificent butterfly escaped. But when he opens it again, it is an immense red dragon which escapes from the magic book and sets off to terrorize the entire population. Lionel then decides to go fight the dragon with the help of Pegasus, a horse with swan's wings that he brought out of the magic book. And it is through skill and cunning that Lionel manages to contain the dragon in the book and save the inhabitants of his kingdom.
